Old School Surgery Developments
The GPs at the Old School surgery have secured access to the Belle Vue School premises to have a vastly improved surgery. Having spent well over a year trying to purchase the Crane Surgery from Assura, the opportunity for the Belle Vue School was snapped up.
This building was originally built as an NHS surgery, housing Mother and Baby clinics, Family Planning, District Nurses, and now it will be returned to a medical use.
The size will enable non-GP services to be offered, as funding and practitioners become available. The consulting rooms must be brought up to NHS professional standards before the GPs can start working from there, and is subject to ICB (NHS Integrated Care Board) approval at this stage, but at least the community is finally getting the use of a local building, originally built for the community but sold off by a national body.
Dr Nadgir and Dr Shan said “after months of frustration, trying to improve our services, we will be able to offer more appointments and services on site. We would like to thank the Parish Council, ICB and the landlords of Belle Vue for helping facilitate our acquisition and hope to have more news soon.”
“We would also like to thank the community and our patients for their support and patience during this challenging time and request them to please bear with us whilst we bring the building up to appropriate healthcare standards and also confirm suitable provision of care via the NHS ICB governance pathways.”
Dr Charlesworth says he will maintain his clinic in Dorothy Avenue.
At last good news for our community health!
